On April 17th, 2024, Debora (Debbie) Carol Knoepfli (Iglesias) at the age of 68, passed peacefully after a long and heroic health battle.

Debbie was born in Noranda, Quebec in 1955 to her loving parents Carlos & Joyce Iglesias. As a teenager in 1971 she moved to Georgetown, Ontario, where she later married Charlie, began a family of her own, and was an incredibly active member of the Georgetown community. Debbie impacted many young lives working at Georgetown District High School for over 20 years, as well as teaching and coaching swimming. When she wasn’t helping others, she was proudly cheering on her own three boys in every possible sport, most notably supporting them through their hockey careers. Debbie was always smiling, had a great sense of humour, always had a story or two (or three!) to share, and loved her family very much.

Debbie was the cherished Mother to Mike (Lynette), Matt (Victoria), Graham (Julia). She was most fond and proud of her 8 grandchildren Aylah, Niya, Iden, Eloise, Everett, Rose, Adam, & Henry. She absolutely loved watching them grow, hearing their stories, and being their Nana.

Debbie was a big sister to Diane & Rickey, and Aunt to Carley, Casey (Matt), Colleen (Justin), Andrew, Jolene, & Janelle (Sean), and family, friend, and supporter to so many more.

While it is hard to say goodbye, we know you are no longer suffering and can watch over us in peace.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Canadian Lyme Disease Foundation.
