A variety of opportunities are coming up this week to meet and hear from Wellington-Halton Hills candidates running in the provincial election.

First up, the Wellington Federation of Agriculture will be hosting an agriculturally-focused virtual debate on Zoom from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Feb. 18.

Those looking to participate can get the Zoom link by emailing [email protected] or it can be watched on the WFA’s Facebook page.

Then the Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce will hold a candidate meet and greet Feb. 19 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Club at North Halton in Georgetown.

The event will include candidate presentations and time for networking. Those interested in attending can register here.

The Optimist Club of Puslinch is holding an in-person debate at the Puslinch Community Centre in Aberfoyle from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Feb. 20.

Candidates will start the evening with opening remarks, followed by a moderated Q&A session, where attendees can ask questions directly from the floor. No registration is required.

Last but not least, CFUW Georgetown is holding a meet and greet on Feb. 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hillsview Active Living Centre in Georgetown (318 Guelph St.).

Local residents will have an opportunity to meet the candidates, and each will have time to give a speech outlining their platform.

There are now seven candidates running in Wellington-Halton Hills: Alex Hilson for the Liberals, Joseph Racinsky for the Progressive Conservatives, Bronwynne Wilton for the Greens, Simone Kent for the NDP, Stephen Kitras for New Blue, Jason Medland for the Ontario Party, and Ron Patava as an independent.
