Southeast Georgetown Draft Secondary Plan

Purpose and Effect of Halton Hills Official Plan Amendment No. 59

The purpose of Draft Official Plan Amendment No. 59 is to establish a Secondary Plan that will guide land use and future development in Southeast Georgetown. Using the Council endorsed Preferred Land Use Plan, the Southeast Georgetown Secondary Plan will implement policies, objectives and guidelines intended to result in a new residential community that is well designed, attractive and respects the adjacent natural heritage features and cultural heritage resources while integrating well with the surrounding community. 

The Secondary Plan area, shown in the map, is adjacent to the current urban area of Georgetown to the west, the village of Norval in the north and Agricultural lands to the south.

Legal Notices Required under the Planning Act:

  1. If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Council of the Town of Halton Hills to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Halton Hills before the proposed Official Plan Amendment is adopted, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
     
  2. If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the Town of Halton Hills before the proposed Official Plan Amendment is adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
     
  3. Any written comment/objection submitted to the Town of Halton Hills regarding the Proposed Official Plan Amendment may be made public as part of the process.

Notification:

If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Town of Halton Hills on the proposed Official Plan Amendment, you must make a written request to the Town of Halton Hills Planning & Development Department, 1 Halton Hills Drive, Halton Hills, ON, L7G 5G2.

Please note that a copy of the Draft Southeast Georgetown Secondary Plan, and Draft Halton Hills Official Plan Amendment No. 59, will be made available as of Tuesday, October 29th.
