It’s almost time for ‘The Best Little Fair in Ontario.’
The 109th annual Acton Fall Fair returns to Prospect Park this coming weekend, bringing with it a classic mix of agriculture and midway fun.
“It’s a great opportunity to see some friendly faces, spark up old acquaintances, and spend some great family time together,” said Acton Agricultural Society president Dave Somerville in an online statement.
The festivities kick off Friday with the traditional Education Day - a chance for local students to learn more about the agricultural side of things.
Gates will then open to the public at 4 p.m. Friday, with opening ceremonies and the Miss Acton competition taking place later that night at 8 p.m.
The rest of the weekend will deliver on other traditions like the baby show, live music, truck and tractor pulls, and livestock shows.
A full schedule can be viewed here.
Contestants are still being sought for the Miss Acton competition, which is open to youths between the ages of 16 and 22 who attend Acton High School or live in Acton, Limehouse, Ballinafad or Rockwood areas.
Anyone interested can contact Emily Loewen at 289-839-2501 or [email protected].

Three-day passes, which cover fair admission (no rides), are available at most local banks this week for $20.
