Turns out it’s worth the drive to Acton for more reasons than one.
The McDonald’s location on Queen Street has been selected as the site for a national commercial shoot on Monday (July 31), which means it will be closed for the entire day.
“McDonald’s Canada reached out to see if we had a restaurant that had been recently renovated to use as the site to shoot,” said Tim O’Connor, who owns and operates both local McDonald’s with wife Casey.
“Our Acton restaurant is our more recent renovation, so we were pleased to help out.”
O’Connor said the commercial will feature actors promoting a future product, but he’s unsure what the item will be as McDonald’s is keeping things under wraps for competitive purposes.
He extended his apologies to local residents for the inconvenience of the closure.
“We look forward to showing off our Acton restaurant once the ad airs,” he added.
Acton McDonald’s will reopen at 5 a.m. on August 1.
