Copper wire theft leaves machinery damaged at Acton quarry

There are no suspects in a theft from the Dufferin Aggregates quarry in Acton.

Halton Regional Police are investigating a theft at Dufferin Aggregates' Acton quarry.

Over the June 15-16 weekend, police say someone cut the fence and entered the Third Line quarry.

Copper wiring was removed from equipment and machinery on the site, according to police.

The value of the copper wire, plus the damage to the equipment, is estimated at more than $5,000.

No suspect descriptions are currently available and no arrests have been made yet.

The investigation is ongoing.
