NEWS RELEASE
TOWN OF HALTON HILLS

Residents, businesses and non-profits in the Norval community who were impacted by flooding on July 15 and 16 may be eligible for funding.
Last Friday the Ontario government announced the activation of the Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians (DRAO) program to support communities in designated areas.
The DRAO program, administered by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, provides financial assistance to individuals, small owner-operated businesses, farmers and not-for-profit organizations after a natural disaster.
In Halton Hills, the Province has identified specific areas in Norval as potentially eligible to apply for funding.
The DRAO program is not funded or run by the Town. To find out if you're eligible to apply for assistance and for next steps, individuals should review the map and program guidelines available at:
- ontario.ca/DisasterAssistance
- Call 1-877-822-0116 after speaking with your private insurance provider.
- Email [email protected] after speaking with your private insurance provider.
The Town continues to work with Halton Region on issues to support the safety and well-being of its residents including sharing information on flooding resources.
In recognizing the partnership between the municipality, Halton Region and the Province, Mayor Lawlor noted: “Good government occurs when all levels work together for the betterment of its residents. On behalf of our Norval residents, I am very thankful to the Province for the release of their DRAO program and to our Regional partners for their continued support.”
