Each weekend, Food4Kids Halton provides packages of healthy food for over 1,000 elementary school students facing food insecurity.
The need for this lifeline continues to grow across the region, and helping the organization’s efforts can now be as simple as casting a vote.
Halton residents are invited to do so through iA Financial Group’s Canada-wide philanthropic contest, which will award four of 12 finalist groups with $100,000 each.
If successful, Food4Kids would use the funds to provide vulnerable children with life-changing access to nutritious food and start a new youth internship program to empower high school students to break the cycle of poverty and provide tools to build a brighter future.
“We are excited that iA Financial Group chose our submission. This donation would allow us to meet the growing demand for food among vulnerable children in Halton, ensuring that we can say ‘yes’ ever time a school calls with a child in need – without a waitlist,” said Jennifer Sully-Ferraro, Food4Kids Halton’s executive director.
The contest runs until Nov. 27. Click here to vote.
