GWCA enhances Glen Williams parkette for the birds and the bees

The resident group has planted more native plants, shrubs and trees to create a bird-friendly and pollinator habitat in the hamlet

Shelagh Law Parkette is now a bit prettier, thanks to the efforts of the Glen Williams Community Association (GWCA) and local volunteers.

The group recently added native plants, shrubs and trees to the parkette, with Bird-Friendly Halton Hills donating $600 toward the project.

The event was phase two of a plan to make the green space attractive to birds, bees and butterflies. The GWCA began the process in May, with the help of the local Keller Williams Real Estate branch.

In other GWCA news, the group held an open house late last month in the Glen Williams Town Hall, giving residents a chance to speak to Town staff, Halton Region Police and local councillors.
