Those who missed Halton Hills’ golden jubilee celebrations earlier in the year need not worry; Glen Williams will be joining in on the fun.
On Sunday (Sept. 22), the Glen Williams Community Association (GWCA) will be marking the occasion with the unveiling of a new kiosk in the Shelagh Law Parkette.
All are welcome to the gathering at the Credit River bank that starts at 2 p.m. Hot and cold refreshments, including charcuterie cups from Coast Catering, will fill the bellies of attendees. A 50th birthday cake by local cafe Kit’s Little Kitchen will perhaps be the most sought-after treat at the inauguration of the new information board.
Councillors Jason Brass, Clark Somerville and Joseph Racinsky as well as Mayor Ann Lawlor will be there to add to the pomp and ceremony of the unveiling.
Stay a while and enjoy the unique pollinator garden around the kiosk. The GWCA volunteers, along with the Glen’s Keller Williams Real Estate branch, worked painstakingly to get the garden to blossom for all to enjoy.
The GWCA’s Sandy Gillians will give tours of said gardens so people can learn more about them and other planting initiatives by her organization. She will be joined by Credit Valley Conservation expert Natalie Rudkins to education people about their natural surroundings.
Bird-Friendly Halton Hills will be running a booth for anyone interested in learning more about making the municipality safer for feathered friends.
Keller Williams also installed a new bench along the river this year in collaboration with the GWCA.
