ALL WEEKEND

North Halton Kitten Rescue Used Book Sale

Jan. 13 from 5 to 8 p.m., Jan. 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Jan. 15 from noon to 5 p.m. at Georgetown Market Place: Support a local kitten rescue while restocking your book shelves at the used book sale, running all weekend in the mall near Sport Chek. All funds raised supports local stray and abandoned kittens and young cats in the care of the North Halton Kitten Rescue.

Light up the Hills

Running nightly from 5 to 11 p.m. until Jan. 15 at Dominion Gardens Park, Georgetown: It’s the last weekend for Halton Hills’ favourite Christmas lights display. The lights will remain on until Sunday at Dominion Gardens Park, along with the smaller displays at Acton Sports Park (beside the arena) and the Shelagh Law Parkette in Glen Williams.

FRIDAY

Drop-in Family Story Time

Jan. 13 at 10 a.m. at the Gellert Centre, Georgetown.: Join the Halton Hills Public Library staff in exploring new themes each week through stories, rhymes, and songs. No registration is required.

SATURDAY

Acton Aqua Ducks E-Waste Collection

Jan. 14 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Bethel Church parking lot, 365 Queen St., Acton: It’s time to dig out those old electronics for a good cause.

Accepted items include: computers, printers, video gaming devices, phones, TVs and monitors, stereos, headphones, speakers, cameras, video recorders, drones, cables, electronic musical instruments and audio recording equipment. Money is raised on every pound of e-waste collected, with proceeds going to the swim club.

Jan. 14 at 10 a.m. at the Halton Hills Public Library, Georgetown and Acton branches.: Explore new themes each week through stories, rhymes, and songs. No registration is required. 

An Evening of Punk Rock

Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. at Tommy's Grill and Bar, downtown Acton: Enjoy an evening of music at this all-ages benefit for The Optimist Club of Acton and Food for Life. Organizers are asking for a $10 donation and a non-perishable food item(s) as an entry fee if you are able.
