SATURDAY

Family Storytime

Jan. 18 at 10 a.m. at the Halton Hills Public Library, Georgetown and Acton branches: Explore new themes each week through stories, rhymes, and songs. This drop-in program is designed for children up to age six and their caregivers.

Genealogy Circle

Jan. 18 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Halton Hills Public Library, Georgetown branch: Whether you’re just starting your family history research or have already compiled an extensive family tree, come and join the library’s Genealogy Circle group, which meets monthly to learn about genealogy research and discuss findings.

Ignite the Night

Jan. 18 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Terra Cotta Conservation Area: Experience the beauty of the forest after dark along a two-kilometre illuminated trail. Ski, snowshoe and kicksled rentals are available on site, as conditions permit, along with ice skating opportunities. Visitors are also welcome to bring their own equipment. Hot drinks and snacks are available at the park store.

Valentine’s for Vets

Jan. 19 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Halton Hills Public Library, Georgetown and Acton branches: Share messages of love and gratitude for Canadian veterans by making a special card and putting it in the library’s Valentine’s for Vets mailbox.

Fire Pit Pop-up

Jan. 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Sir Donald Mann Park, Acton: Join the Town's Hey Neighbour team for a hot chocolate treat then sit back and enjoy the warmth of a fireside seat in the park, located at 58 Mowbray Place, Acton.

World Religion Day Celebration

Jan. 19 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the John Elliott Theatre, Georgetown: Join the Halton Hills Interfaith Community as they delve into this year's theme, ‘Women of Faith - Exploring Their Impact and Roles in Faith Communities.’ The event will include speakers from diverse faiths, along with a Q and A on the roles and influence of women in faith communities.
