FRIDAY

Plant Sale and Silent Auction

May 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Gellert Community Centre, Georgetown: Join the Georgetown Horticultural Society for its annual plant sale and silent auction. This is an indoor event, so it will run rain or shine. Cash, debit and credit accepted.

SATURDAY

Mega Garage Sale

May 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Sacré-Coeur Parish, 39 Guelph St., Georgetown: Hunt for treasures at this fundraising garage sale and enjoy a barbecue lunch. All proceeds will go toward a trip for 18 youth members of the Église Sacré-Coeur parish.

Hike for Hospice

May 13 at 10 a.m. starting at Wallace Street Parkette, Acton and Milton Community Park: The Townsend Smith Foundation (TSF) is holding its sixth annual Hike for Hospice, with funds raised going to support its goal of building north Halton’s first hospice residence. For further details, click here.

World Migratory Bird Day

May 13 from 10 a.m. to noon on Hungry Hollow Trail (Cedarvale Park entrance, at bottom of toboggan hill): Learn about local and migratory birds with guided and self-directed activities onsite.

Drop-in Family Story Time

May 13 at 10 a.m. at the Halton Hills Public Library, Georgetown and Acton branches.: Explore new themes each week through stories, rhymes, and songs. No registration is required.

Children’s Market/Spring Into Art Mother’s Day event

May 13 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Williams Mill, Glen Williams:The resident artisans of Williams Mill have joined together with young, aspiring creators for a special shopping experience to find the perfect gift for mom.

This one-day market offers a curated selection of handmade creations and includes the Kind Vibe Kids Children’s Market, which will feature a variety of child-led small businesses selling clothing, accessories, books, baked goods, candles and more.

Art Exhibition Opening Reception

May 13 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Halton Hills Cultural Centre, Georgetown: Check out the second annual Forms, Faces and Spaces - Figuratively Speaking! show that will be on display until May 28. The opening reception will have a jazz trio playing, flamenco dance vignettes, light refreshments, and mix and mingle opportunities with the artists and photographers.

Mary Poppins Jr.
