Displays collectively featuring hundreds of carved pumpkins, the first Christmas bazaar of the season and multiple concerts are among the events happening in Halton Hills this weekend

FRIDAY

Pumpkin Promenade

Nov. 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Acton Town Hall Centre: The fifth annual display of local carved pumpkins is back. Residents can drop off their creations any time during the day, then come back at dusk to take in the sights of hundreds of glowing pumpkins.

There’ll also be free churros from The Mexican Way, free hot chocolate from McDonald’s and other surprises.

Glen Williams Pumpkin Walk

Nov. 1 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Glen Williams Public School: Carved pumpkins will also have an encore performance in the Glen. Pumpkins can be dropped off before 6 p.m. at the school beside the bell, and that evening the Glen Williams Community Association will create a pathway of lit pumpkins.

Hot refreshments and Terra Cotta Cookies will be served.

SATURDAY

Family Storytime

Nov. 2 at 10 a.m. at the Halton Hills Public Library, Georgetown and Acton branches: Explore new themes each week through stories, rhymes, and songs. This drop-in program is designed for children up to age six and their caregivers.

Christmas Bazaar

Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Acton branch: It’s time to get into the holiday spirit and do some early Christmas shopping from local vendors. The bar will be open, and hot dogs will be available to purchase.

With Glowing Hearts - A Tribute to the Canadian Armed Forces

Nov. 2 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Georgetown Christian Reformed Church: The Halton Hills Concert Band will pay a musical tribute to the brave men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces. Guests include the Sandhill Pipes and Drums.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for those ages 12 and under. They’re available here and at the door.

SUNDAY

Grace to Gloryland

Nov. 3 at 3 p.m. (doors open at 12:30 p.m.) at the Royal Canadian Legion, Acton branch: Elvis tribute artist Steve Michaels is returning with his Grace to Gloryland show, which focuses on Elvis’ love of gospel music.

The family-friendly event is open to all ages. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. and the show begins at 3 p.m. There will be a brunch/lunch buffet available prior to the show for $20.
