SATURDAY

Hungry Hollow Community Tree Planting

Oct. 19 from 9:30 a.m. to noon starting on Craig Crescent, Georgetown: Join CVC and Trees for Halton Hills to help plant native trees and shrubs in ­­­­­the Hungry Hollow ravine. Sign up here.

Family Storytime

Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. at the Halton Hills Public Library, Georgetown and Acton branches: Explore new themes each week through stories, rhymes, and songs. This drop-in program is designed for children up to age six and their caregivers.

Pumpkinfest

Oct. 19 from 12 to 2:30 p.m. at 521 Main St., Glen Williams: The Keller Williams Real Estate team has plenty of festive fun planned, including games and children’s activities, music, food and more. Admission is free, with donations of non-perishable items for the Georgetown Bread Basket encouraged.

Halloween Costume Bike Parade

Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. at Gellert Community Park, Georgetown: Bike It Halton Hills is hosting its first Halloween Costume Bike Parade on Saturday. The free event is open to participants of all ages.

There will be prizes for the best costumes for children up to and including Grade 3, Grades 4-8, high school, adult and family.

Allison’s Farm Market, Baskin Robbins and Terra Cotta Cookies will all be providing contest prizes and treats for participants.

Georgetown Diwali

Oct. 19 starting at 5 p.m. at Norval United Church, 14015 Danby Rd., Georgetown: Celebrate Diwali with music, dancing, games and a full-course dinner. Tickets are available here.

SUNDAY

Run for Georgetown

Oct. 20 at Gellert Community Park, Georgetown: The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association is getting ready for its first Run for Georgetown, in support of the Georgetown Hospital Foundation.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., followed by the opening ceremonies at 9 a.m. The event is open to serious and casual runners and walkers with a two-kilometre route.

Play Street

Oct. 20 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Carruthers Road/Emmerson Park, Georgetown: The Town's Play Streets are short-term road closures, creating a safe space for families to play outside together in their own neighbourhood. Town staff's Neighbourhood Team will provide a variety of recreation equipment for residents to enjoy.
