THURSDAY

Open Mic Night/Jam Session

Sept. 26 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Acton branch: Everyone is welcome to come out and jam or simply listen and enjoy. No fees or membership required.

FRIDAY

Huge Jigsaw Puzzle Sale

Sept. 27 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Trinity United Church, 70 Mill St. E., Acton: Shop from nearly 2,000 puzzles, new and used. Cash or cheque only.  For more info, call 519-853-1081.

Salvation Army Acton 45th Anniversary Block Party

Sept. 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. at The Salvation Army Acton Community Church, 114 Mill St. E., Acton: Come by for some treats, a bouncy castle, petting zoo and plenty of games and prizes. All are welcome. No admission charge.

Acton Trunk Sale

Sept. 28 from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Acton GO station parking lot: The Rotary Club of Acton’s popular trunk sale is on every Saturday. Shop for a variety of products or become a vendor for $20 cash - no reservations required. Simply show up anytime after 7 a.m.

Georgetown Farmers’ Market

Sept. 28 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in downtown Georgetown: Shop every Saturday morning from a mix of vendors that offer farm produce, culturally diverse food and products, hand-crafted jewelry, soaps, candles and more.

Learn, Play, Grow

Sept. 28 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Halton Hills Public Library, Georgetown and Acton branches:  Drop in at your nearest library branch for engaging, interactive activities that children up to age five and their families can enjoy at their own pace. These sessions explore various themes designed to foster positive child development.

‘80s Dance Party

Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Acton branch: Come out and dance to all the classic ‘80s with Retro Crush. Tickets cost $10 at the bar or the door and includes a late-night pizza fix.

SUNDAY

Walk or Run for Georgetown Hospital

Sept. 29 starting at 9 a.m. at the Gellert Community Centre, Georgetown: The Walk or Run for Georgetown Hospital is back this weekend and is aiming to raise $90,000 for a new and more advanced mammogram machine.

In addition to the usual three-kilometre and five-kilometre routes, there will be a one-kilometre route this time around. There will also be food, vendors and entertainment before and after the walk.

Milton Fall Fair

Sept. 27 to 29 at the Milton Fairgrounds: Now in its 169th year, the Milton Fall Fair features a midway, demolition derby, truck and tractor pulls, animals, food and more. It runs 3 to 11 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate. Visit miltonfair.com for a full lineup of events.
