In honour of its 50th anniversary, the Town is launching a Sticker Map Program, offering residents and visitors a chance to discover the attractions of Halton Hills while supporting local businesses.
Running from June 1 to Aug. 31, the initiative encourages participants to explore Georgetown, Acton and Glen Williams while collecting stickers from various participating tourism businesses.
Those interested can pick up their sticker maps from Town facilities such as the Gellert Community Centre, Halton Hills Public Library and Cultural Centre, Acton library branch, Acton Arena, and Mold-Masters SportsPlex.
"The Sticker Map Program is a fun and interactive way to engage both locals and tourists in exploring our beautiful town," said Mayor Ann Lawlor. "It highlights the diverse range of tourism offerings and businesses we have to offer in Halton Hills.”
Here's how it works:
- Pick up your Sticker Map from a participating Town facility
- Collect one mini sticker from one participating business in Georgetown, Acton and Glen Williams (total of three mini stickers)
- Place the stickers on your big sticker map
- Display your completed map proudly and upload it to Visit Halton Hills’ website for a chance to win local prizes.
Whether it's on your water bottle, laptop or somewhere inventive, post a picture of your map and tag @visithaltonhills on Instagram or use #visithaltonhills.
The first 50 participants who submit their completed sticker maps will have a chance to win prizes, including Visit Halton Hills tote bags, campfire mugs and a grand prize filled with local goodies.
"We're thrilled to celebrate our 50th anniversary with this exciting program, providing visitors with an engaging summer activity while also supporting our local businesses," said Erin Kaiser, Manager of Economic Development and Innovation at the Town. "It's a wonderful opportunity to bolster our community's small businesses while showcasing the many tourism attractions that Halton Hills has to offer."
