The Halton Hills Public Library is landing a perfect 10 with its airing of the 2024 Olympics in Paris, in partnership with the CBC.

Sports fans can catch the games on TVs throughout both branches of the library in Georgetown and Acton during opening hours over the two-week-long games (July 26 to Aug. 11).

Library staff says the goal is to foster community by celebrating sports together.

Those who stop by should keep in mind that Paris is six hours ahead of Halton Hills. The opening ceremonies will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the City of Lights, meaning they will air at 1:30 p.m. locally.

The much-anticipated Parade of Nations will be a veritable tour of the sites of Paris. Athletes from each country will travel by boat down the River Seine, snaking past landmarks like Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre and Place de Concorde, among others. The route will conclude at Pont d'Iéna bridge, near the Eiffel Tower.

Almost 340 athletes from across Canada are attending. Men's rugby player Nathan Hirayama of Richmond, BC and Miranda Ayim of London, ON are the flag bearers.
