Halton Regional Councillor Colin Best has been acclaimed as president of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario board of directors for a two-year term.
Best - a Milton councillor - has served as Halton’s representative on the AMO Board for two terms and chair of the board’s regional and single-tier caucus since 2018. He also served as chair of AMO’s health task force for the past year.
“Over the past four years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with elected officials from across the province to overcome challenges and accomplish many shared goals," said Best. "I look forward to continuing our efforts together. Thank you to my colleagues for your continued support.”
AMO supports the 444 municipalities in Ontario to achieve shared goals and better their communities through advocacy, consulting and policy.
“Colin has worked tirelessly to advocate for municipalities and to protect and advocate for the interests of the Halton community, including ensuring provincially-mandated growth is not burdened by existing Halton residents, advocating for access to universal broadband and more," said Regional Chair Gary Carr. "I know he will continue to make a positive impact during his term as president.”
