IN PHOTOS: Hiking through the Limehouse countryside

From the Limehouse Conservation Area to the nearby Acton quarry, there are plenty of sights to see

When one thinks of hiking trails, people imagine secluded, verdant routes where urban noise is absorbed and deadened by the hanging foliage of the forest.

But in Halton Hills, the Bruce Trail also weaves through populated areas like Limehouse.

Beginning at the Limehouse Conservation Area, HaltonHillsToday walked the forests and streets of Limehouse to get an appreciation for the little things in the area. Interesting streetscapes, natural challenges and, of course, slices of life in Limehouse greet hikers along this route.

We then hopped on the Canada Goose Side Trail to make our way around the Dufferin Aggregates' Acton quarry.
