Summer is winding down, and that means school is just around the corner.

With this in mind, Halton Student Transportation Services hosted its First-Time Rider Program yesterday (Aug. 26) to teach local students about school bus safety and make them comfortable with riding the bus.

In addition to trying their hand at boarding the bus, local youngsters and their families learned about behaviour expectations, how to cross the street to get to a bus, and general school bus safety.
