The Halton Hills Professional Firefighters Local 3327 raised almost $2,000 over the weekend for a good cause with its annual chili cook off.

The event is part of the team’s fundraising efforts for Movember, which supports charities focused on men's mental and physical health.

Local residents and supporters turned out to Furnace Room Brewery yesterday for the tasty festivities, with C platoon’s creation made with venison winning the chili cook off.

The Local 3327 crew has a goal of raising $25,000 throughout the month of November, with the men also growing their ‘mo,’ or mustache, in a show of solidarity.

As firefighters are at increased risk of certain cancers and mental health injuries/disorders, the charities supported by Movember hold a particularly special meaning for the team.
