One dead, two injured in crash at Ninth Line and Steeles

Police expect Steeles Avenue between Eighth and Tenth lines will remain closed for an extended period as they investigate the fatal collision

Halton Regional Police Service say one person is dead and two others have been taken to hospital after a crash at the intersection of Steeles Avenue and Ninth Line.

Police, fire and EMS responded to a call at the busy intersection shortly after 12:35 p.m. this afternoon (June 30).

The police Collision Reconstruction Unit has taken over the investigation and closed Steeles Avenue between Eighth and Tenth lines.

“Road closures are in effect and updates will be provided via Twitter when appropriate,” said Halton Police spokesperson Steve Elms.
