It’s that time again to start gearing up for Christmas traditions, like the Georgetown Lions Santa Claus Parade.

The local service club is currently seeking over 100 volunteers to serve during its parade and assist with traffic control.

The popular event is set to take place this year on Nov. 18 from 5 to 7 p.m.

“The parade cannot happen without your help,” notes the club in a press release.

Those interested in giving their time should email [email protected].

Local residents and businesses are also invited to enter a float in the parade, with this year’s theme being ‘Christmas Past and Present.’ Entry forms can be found at georgetownlionsclubs.com.

The event has been a local Christmas staple since 1932 and is organized annually by Lions members, assisted by scores of community volunteers.

The parade will assemble on Sinclair Avenue and Todd Road and will travel along Guelph Street to Mill Street, winding its way through Downtown Georgetown to the Georgetown Fairgrounds Park.
