Outdoor fall fun is on tap at Conservation Halton parks this month, with something for all ages.

The Hops and Harvest festival runs from Oct. 13 to 15 at Area 8 in Milton. 

The event, set against the backdrop of the Niagara Escarpment, will feature more than 40 local food, beverage and marketplace vendors, including craft breweries, cideries and artisans.

There will also be live music and family entertainment featuring homegrown acts such as Burlington’s Hayley Verrall, Jason Maxwell, The Blacktones and Fast and Loose. For the younger set, the Kids’ Zone will be running on Saturday and Sunday.

Admission to Hops and Harvest is $26 per adult, $21.75 for seniors, $19.75 for children under 14 and free for children under 5.

Eerie adventures at Mountsberg

For those looking for even bigger thrills, the annual Halloween Spooktacular is running each weekend at Mountsberg Conservation Area until Oct. 29.

Each Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening (4:30 to 10 p.m.), family-friendly activities are on offer, including the haunted barn, a lighted Night Walk through the forest, a bonfire and a scavenger hunt for Halloween treats. 

Children of all ages are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes, and families should bring along their flashlights to navigate dark areas.

This is a family-friendly event, but most suited for kids aged 5 and up.

Admission to Halloween Spooktacular is $22 for adults, $19 for children/seniors and kids under 2 get in free. Wagon rides are available at additional cost, and hot chocolate and s'mores will be available for purchase.
