More than 200 people took part in the annual Coldest Night of the Year walk in Georgetown in 2024.

There will be two Coldest Night of the Year charity walks taking place in Halton Hills this year.

While an Acton route was offered as part of the Georgetown event in 2024, this year the smaller community will have its own walk to raise funds for The Roxy Centre.

The Roxy Centre in downtown Acton supports families through various programs, including community dinners and lunches, the food pantry program, free Coffee Connection other community services.

The Georgetown edition of Coldest Night of the Year will once again benefit the Georgetown Bread Basket and Links2Care.

Both fundraiser events will take place on Saturday, Feb. 22 and offer two and five-kilometre route options.

The Acton walk will begin and end at the parkette at the corner of Mill and Main streets. The Georgetown walk begins and ends at Norval United Church, with a rest stop at Holy Cross Church.

Registration is now open for the Georgetown and Acton events. You can either participate as an individual or put together a team.

The Georgetown walk has set a goal of $60,000 while the Acton walk is aiming to raise $20,000.
