The countdown is on to the Walk or Run for Georgetown Hospital, which is back in one location for the first time since the pandemic started.
The annual fundraiser is set for Sept. 25 at the Gellert Community Centre, with a goal of raising $80,000 for the local hospital. So far, almost $57,000 has been raised.
“The Walk or Run for Georgetown Hospital is a fun family event for all ages,” said foundation executive director Sandra Taylor. “We extend our heartfelt thanks to all of the community members who come out and walk or run in support of the highest priority equipment needs at the hospital.”
Festivities kick off at 9 a.m., followed by the Walk or Run at 10:30 a.m. on the trails surrounding the Gellert Centre.
The event is designed for all ages, with those who take part being able to choose either a three-km or five-km route.
Participants can register as individuals or as part of a team at a cost of $20 per child and $40 per adult.
Those who sign up will receive a free event shirt and goodie bag stuffed with gifts from local businesses.
There will also be food and an on-site vendor market at the event.
