A woman found without vital signs at a fire in rural Milton last night has died.

Halton police media relations officer Ryan Anderson confirmed the adult female was pronounced dead after being rushed to hospital around 8 p.m. Thursday (July 4).

Both Milton and Halton Hills firefighters – along with EMS and police – responded to the call at a small 'bunk-like' structure (not the main dwelling) on First Line in Nassagaweya (near Eden Mills).

There were no other injuries and no one else home at the time.

No other details, including the cause of the fire, are available at this time.

The investigation has been turned over to the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office.
