Owen Cartwright’s first Jr. A goal was the lone bright spot in the Georgetown Raiders’ 10-1 loss to the Leamington Flyers Thursday.
The first-place Flyers built a 5-0 lead through two periods of Thursday’s Ontario Junior Hockey League game. Leamington added two more to its lead before Cartwright snapped the Flyers’ shutout bid.
The Flyers, who outshot the Raiders 58-17, extended their winning streak to 11 games while Georgetown dropped its fourth in a row. The Raiders, 17-16-6, sit in the final playoff spot in the West Conference.
Georgetown hosts Collingwood Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at the Mold-Masters SportsPlex. They travel to Niagara Falls to play the Canucks on Sunday.
