Georgetown’s Ben Abram has re-signed with the Welland Jackfish of the Intercounty Baseball League.
The 24-year-old pitcher went 10-2 with a 2.42 earned-run average with the Jackfish in 2024. He led the league in wins and innings pitched (85⅔) and was named to the IBL’s second all-star team. The 6-foot-8 right-hander also finished in the top five in the league in strikeouts (84) and ERA.
A former San Diego Padres draft pick who attended the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, Abram joined Welland midway through the 2013 season and helped the Jackfish win their first IBL championship.
Abram represented Canada at the 2017 World Baseball Classic and won a silver medal with Canada at the 2019 Pan Am Games in Peru.
The IBL season begins May 17.
