The Georgetown Raiders scored three unanswered goals to down the Niagara Falls Canucks 4-2 Wednesday.
Trailing 2-1 after the opening period, Jayden Levesque pulled the Raiders even early in the second and John Mitchell gave the Raiders the lead with 5:28 left in the period. Owen McNamara added an empty-net goal in the third to seal the victory.
Michael Newlove stopped all 24 shots he faced over the final 40 minutes and finished with 30 saves as Georgetown snapped a three-game losing streak.
Colin Maund scored the Raiders other goal and Owen Bruining had two assists.
Former Raider goalie Michael Kingo stopped 26 of 29 shots for Niagara Falls.
The win moved the Raiders, 15-11-5, into a tie with Niagara Falls for sixth place in the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s West Conference.
The Raiders remaining four games in 2024 are all on the road, beginning tonight (Friday) at Milton Memorial Arena. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
