Georgetown’s Hannah Tonet has been named to the Ontario University Athletics women’s rugby all-star team.
The third-year Brock University kinesiology student was named to the second all-star team at hooker.
Brock coach Mark Smerdon said the Georgetown District High School graduate “does a lot of work to create opportunities for points for her teammates and is a great scrimmager who has a high work rate around the field.”
Brock finished third out of 10 teams in the OUA with a 4-2 record and was ranked as high as seventh nationally during the season. Brock defeated the University of Toronto 43-7 in the quarterfinals before being shut out by Guelph 50-0 in the semifinals.
