Georgetown’s Ethan Burroughs had a hat trick and set up another goal to lead the St. Francis Xavier X-Men to a 6-2 victory over the University of Prince Edward Island.
Burroughs also had two assists in a 6-2 win over Dalhousie, helping him earn Atlantic University Sport athlete of the week honours.
Following his six-point week, Burroughs is now in the top-10 in the AUS in both goals (eight) and points (20). He leads the league in shots on goal with 86 and with two powerplay goals against UPEI, now has four on the season, second most in the league.
St. Francis Xavier is 10-6-2 this season and is in second place in the AUS standings.
Prior to joining St. FX, the 21-year-old business student played with the Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League. Over four seasons, Burroughs scored 93 goals and had 195 points in 256 games.
He was selected 29th overall in the 2019 OHL draft after leading the South Central Triple A League in goals while playing for the Halton Hurricanes.
