WHL roundup: Fuder scores winner as Rebels edge Hitmen 3-2

CALGARY — Jaxon Fuder's goal at 16:04 of the third period snapped a 2-2 deadlock and lifted the visiting Red Deer Rebels to a 3-2 Western Hockey League victory over the Calgary Hitmen on Monday night at Scotiabank Saddledome.

Evan Smith and Jace Weir also scored for the Central Division-leading Rebels (9-5-1-0), who entered the third period trailing 2-1. Rebels' goalie Chase Wutzke stopped 38 of 40 shots.

Rylan Ng and Carter Yakemchuk scored for the Hitmen (6-6-2-1), while netminder Eric Tu stopped 37 of 40 shots.

The Rebels went 0-for-2 on the power play, while the Hitmen were 0-for-4.
