It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Nadeja Gulezko on January 20, 2025, at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. Born on December 24, 1961, Nadeja brought light and love into the world for 63 beautiful years.
Nadeja was the beloved wife of Derek Fitzpatrick, with whom she shared 39 years of marriage built on love, laughter, and unwavering support. She was a devoted and proud mother to Molly Fitzpatrick (Bernard) and Matthew Fitzpatrick (Sydney), who will forever cherish her memory.
She was a loving sister to Walter, a dear sister-in-law to Kathleen Fitzpatrick, Egan (Sharon) Fitzpatrick, and Amelia (Val) Barocca, and an adored aunt to her nieces and nephews. Her extended family and friends will remember her warmth, kindness, and zest for life.
Nadeja’s life was rich with passion and creativity. An accomplished ballet dancer in her younger years, she had a deep appreciation for the fine arts, classical music, and poetry. She found joy in running, travelling to new places, and sharing her love of cooking with those she cared about. A lifelong reader, she delighted in stories that inspired and transported her imagination.
Nadeja’s grace, strength, and compassion touched everyone she met. She will be remembered for her unwavering courage, her boundless generosity, and the beauty she brought into the lives of those who knew her.
Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, on Friday January 24, 2025 from 2-4p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday January 25, 2025 at 11 a.m. Reception will be held following the funeral service.
