It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Sean McRae, at the age of 49, on December 13th, 2024, at his home in Acton. Sean was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and love to all who knew him.
Sean is survived by his devoted wife, Shelley, and their two children, Seth (19) and Alex (16), who were the lights of his life. His love for his family was unmatched, and he was a source of unwavering support, joy, and inspiration for them all. Sean’s bond with his children was especially strong, and he was proud of the young adults they were becoming. Sean shared 23 incredible years with his wife, Shelley. Their love story began with a blind date, and from the moment they met, it was love at first sight. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with joy, mutual respect, and unwavering devotion. Sean's love for Shelley was evident in everything he did, and their bond was truly special. Sean’s father, Donald, survives him, along with his siblings, Michelle and Christopher, affectionately known as "Magoo." He was pre-deceased by his mother, Helen, whose memory he cherished and honoured throughout his life.
Sean’s love for music was a defining part of who he was. He could often be found with his earbuds in, listening to his favourite band, Tool, which provided him comfort and strength. His passion for music was just one of the many ways Sean brought joy and inspiration into his life. In addition to his family and music, Sean found great joy in playing Dungeons & Dragons with his work friends. His creativity, wit, and sense of humour made every game a memorable experience, and he was deeply cherished by his gaming companions.
An avid fan of Superman, Sean carried a sense of strength, integrity, and loyalty that echoed his admiration for the iconic superhero. He lived his life with a sense of adventure, much like the Man of Steel, and inspired others with his positive attitude and caring nature.
Sean’s fur-babies held a special place in his heart, and he gave them the same love and devotion that he shared with his family and friends. His favorite number was 17, and it held personal significance, reminding him of the things that mattered most in life.
A private family service has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring/Summer of 2025. A Go Fund Me has been set up for Sean’s family https://www.gofundme.com/f/shelleymcraefamily
