John Joseph Meade aged 83 has sadly passed away at home in Acton, Ontario, Canada – following a brief illness on January 11th 2025.
Born in 1941 to David & Elizabeth White, he was raised in the village of Long Ground on the beautiful island of Montserrat, W.I. He was the sixth of their seven children.
He was a naturally bright child and excelled at school, eventually earning a place at the local Grammar School. After he completed his studies, he took the opportunity to relocate first to the UK and then immigrated to Canada, where he settled in Acton.
John was preceded in death by his parents and siblings – bar one, his younger sister Mrs Rose Hall; and is survived by his loving wife Mrs Christiana Meade and his children and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the MacKinnon Family Funeral Home, 55 Mill St E, Acton, ON L7J 1H4, Canada on Thursday 23 January 2024 at 1pm, which will be a Christian service to send him onto his journey. Followed by a reception at Journey’s Cuisine (Best Western Hotel), 161 Chisholm Drive, Milton, Ontario at 2:30pm. He will be cremated and the interment of his ashes will take place in Montserrat W.I.
The family welcomes donations made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada in lieu of sending flowers.
