It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Martin (Marty) Philip Pollock, after an impossible battle with cancer. He passed at home following a MAID procedure, as in this whole battle it is the one thing he had a choice in. Marty is survived by his loving wife Lori, daughters Andrea (Liam) and Heather (Adam) and his two best buddies, grandsons Keith and Kyle. He also leaves behind siblings Mike (Arlene), Marcia (Roy), Mark (Peggy), Madelaine, Monica (Paul), and many nieces and nephews. Marty is predeceased by his mother Lorraine, father Keith and sister Marlene. At 66 years old, Marty was a retired Peel Regional Police Sergeant, as well as a distinguished member of the Ontario Amateur Wrestling Officials Association. He will fondly be remembered for his fantastic and often offensive sense of humour. In his last few days, he spent his time saying good-bye to his family and his legion of friends and colleagues. Those that knew Marty know how tough he was. This rare, painful and aggressive cancer beat him up badly but couldn't change his character and he kept everyone laughing until the end. In lieu of flowers, donations to CAShh or CNIB would be appreciated. A Celebration of Life is planned for November 20th, from 1-3pm at Shoeless Joe's, 367 Guelph Street, Georgetown.
