Peter “Pete” Robinson, in his 83rd year, passed away peacefully on July 18th, 2024, at the Georgetown Hospital, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of 58 years to Patricia (née Wood). Younger brother to Terry and brother-in-law to Christine. Cherished father of Steven and Gary and father-in-law of Mary Beth and Kim. Proud grandfather of Hannah, Luke, Liam, Jack and Abby.

Pete was born and raised in the east end of London, England, where he met and married the love of his life, Pat, in March 1966 before they both immigrated to Canada in 1967. Growing up in London, Pete could be found on his motorbike, fishing with his friends, watching “futbol,” and getting pulled onto the dance floor by his wife.

Throughout his life, Pete was known for being incredibly skilled with his hands. Whether he was building intricate wooden furniture, repairing things around the house, acting as the go-to person on the floor at Kodak, or tinkering with a myriad of gadgets, his inventive spirit and practical skills were always on display. It became common knowledge that if Pete could not fix it, no one could. His home workshop was a place of constant activity, filled with tools, projects, and his grandchildren learning the art of his craftsmanship.

Pete was known for his quiet personality, kind heart, and infectious laugh. His generosity was evident in everything that he did. He will be remembered for his love of funny stories, a good cup of tea, and the immense affection he had for his family and friends. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him.

Pete’s family would like to sincerely thank the doctors and nurses in the medical and surgical ward and those in the palliative unit at the Georgetown Hospital for their exemplary care of Pete at the end of his life.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Pete and the beautiful life he lived at his celebration of Life, the date of which will be announced in the coming week. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills (CASHH) and the Georgetown Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
