Acton resident holds door shut as armed suspects attempt to break into home

Police say suspects fled after resident called 911

Halton Police say a group of four males tried to break into an Acton home early Saturday morning.

EDITOR'S NOTE: This article has been updated based on new information provided by the home owners and police to indicate that a firearm was seen and threats were made during the incident.

Halton Regional Police are investigating a brazen attempted break-in at an Acton home over the long weekend.

Police say residents on Dairy Drive were woken up by banging on their door around 1:45 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 12).  According to police, a group of four males was attempting to break the door down.

In an interview with HaltonHillsToday, the homeowners said one of the men took out a gun, raised it to the window and uttered threats.

The male resident said he held the door shut while his partner called 911. Unable to get into the house, the suspects fled. All of the suspects were wearing masks and hoods. 

Nothing was stolen and no physical injuries were reported.
