Halton Paramedics responded to an injured tobogganer at Cedarvale Park in Georgetown Sunday.

An 11-year-old boy has been upgraded from critical condition to stable following a tobogganing accident at Cedarvale Park over the weekend.

Halton paramedics, police and the fire department were called to the park around 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon after the boy struck a log while tobogganing.

Paramedics treated the boy on scene but needed assistance from the Halton Hills Fire Department, with firefighters using steep slope rescue techniques to bring him back to the top of the hill.

Paramedics then transported the boy to the hospital.
