Halton Regional Police are investigating after a pair of Halton Hills homes were broken into Friday afternoon.

Police say between 1:15 and 4 p.m. on Friday (Dec. 20), a house in the area of Fourth Line and 32 Sideroad had its front door forced open. Nobody was home at the time.

According to police, the items taken have yet to be determined, but a social media post by the homeowner indicates that all of their wrapped Christmas presents were among the items stolen.

Around the same time, between 2 and 4:30 p.m. on Friday (Dec. 20), police say a suspect or suspects forced open a garage door of a home on Country Lane Crescent, in the area of Fifth Line and Bridlewood Boulevard.

Again, nobody was home at the time and police say the items taken have yet to be determined.

No suspect descriptions are currently available in either break-in and no arrests have been made. The investigations are ongoing.

A Halton Police spokesperson said "given the proximity and estimated time of entries," the criminal investigations bureau will look into a possible connection between the break-ins.
