Police searching for driver who fled after hitting pedestrian in Georgetown

An elderly pedestrian is in stable condition after a hit-and-run in Georgetown Tuesday evening. 

Halton Police say around 5:40 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 17), a dark-coloured SUV struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Mountainview Road and Campbell Gate. The vehicle failed to remain at the scene and was last seen driving south on Mountainview Road.

The pedestrian, a 76-year-old Halton Hills man, was taken to Georgetown Hospital.

Halton Police are asking for the public’s help in locating the driver. Any witnesses, drivers with dashcams or anyone driving a Tesla who were in the area around that time is asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 905-825-4747, ext. 5065.
