A little late-night cleaning proved to be an effective deterrent for a would-be break-in at a gas station in the rural area Friday (Dec. 27).
Halton Police media relations officer Jeff Dillon reports that at about 10:30 p.m., four suspects attempted to force open a locked entrance door at the closed Petro Canada at the corner of Guelph Line and 15 Sideroad.
Their efforts were abruptly halted when an employee was seen cleaning inside.
The suspects – all wearing dark clothing and face coverings – fled the scene without gaining entry, leaving in what was described as a dark-coloured van.
The investigation continues. Anyone with information can contact police at 905-825-4777 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or haltoncrimestoppers.ca.
