The Upper Credit Humane Society (UCHS) is running a unique fundraiser that turns unwanted watches or jewelry into new hope for our furry friends!
Upper Credit Humane Society’s UnFURgettable Gems Valentine's Fundraiser is happening now until February 22.
Brianna D'Alessandro of UCHS explained, “We invite everyone in the community to drop off their unwanted, unused watches or jewelry of any kind, to our shelter or our thrift shop, until closing February 22.”
She continued, “Items will be sold online, in our thrift shop, or to private buyers and all the money raised goes back into caring for the animals at the shelter!”
Given the recent wintery weather, UCHS realizes getting out and making donations might be hard for some community members. If you have donations but can’t make it to the shelter or the store, UCHS will come pick them up for you. Just contact [email protected] or call 519-835-4908 to arrange pick up.
D’Alessandro added, “We know that there are lots of folks in our community who have items of this nature that are just gathering dust in drawers or boxes. Perhaps you inherited some jewelry that isn’t your style, or a family watch that you don’t need. Our fundraiser is a guilt-free win/win to take those unwanted, unused items and help our shelter animals as they await adoption.”
The UCHS Shelter is located at 5383 Trafalgar Road, Erin; while the UCHS Thrift Shop is at 67 Main Street N., Georgetown. Items can be dropped off anytime during operating hours.
The shelter is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., 7 days a week. The thrift shop is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday to Saturday.
