Recognizing 50 Years
The Town of Halton Hills will mark its 50th anniversary with a New Year’s levee on Jan. 10 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Halton Hills Cultural Centre. Everyone is welcome to mix and mingle and enjoy the special program, which includes entertainment, light refreshments, pictures from the past and photo ops, Halton Hills trivia and an address by Mayor Ann Lawlor.
2024 Budget Approved
With the passing of the Town and Region budgets, residential property owners will see an overall increase of 6.06 per cent on their 2024 tax bill. This allows the Town to maintain current service levels, invest in infrastructure through an increase of 0.78 per cent to the state of good repair special levy and also address future healthcare funding needs through the creation of a new special levy of 0.25 per cent.
Roxy Centre Receives Community Improvement Grant
The Roxy Centre has received thousands in grant money from the Town for critical upgrades at its downtown Acton building. The facility was recently awarded $29,057.50 from the municipality's Building and Property Renovation Program - part of the Town's overall Community Improvement Plan.
Culture Days Recognition
The Town of Halton Hills received national recognition for its vibrant arts and culture sector with its 2023 Culture Days celebration. The Town placed second for Top Participating Mid-Size Cities and third overall nationwide for the 118 free and donation-based arts and culture activities presented by artists, cultural organizations and businesses. This is the first time Halton Hills has placed in the top three in either category.
