If you’re a family member, friend, or caregiver of someone needing support, finding the right services can be surprisingly complicated.

You might need personal support or at-home nursing care, help with meals and housekeeping, assistance with foot care or transportation. There may be overlap in services, a variety of unknowns, and challenges scheduling and coordinating visits from multiple providers.

Founder Laura Greenway knows the struggle of coordinating external support services for family members. She found it frustrating. “I thought there must be a better way to support those needing home health care and navigational assistance,” she says.

In 2014, the home care environment was complicated, restrictive, and unreliable. Greenway worried for those without family or friends to help. Who would advocate for them? A single point of contact—a known pathway for getting home help—was needed.

10-year celebration

Right at Home Canada - Guelph & Wellington recently celebrated 10 years in business. As home health care providers, they are dedicated to keeping clients safe and comfortable at home.

The company offers in-home, family-funded health care services for adults of all ages and needs. Support types include companion, personal care, nursing, and specialty care. They can also refer patients to other services like physiotherapy and occupational therapy.

Some patients they assist are post-surgery or recovering from accidents, some have dementia, some are elderly. All require personal support.

Greenway, a retired registered nurse works with her professional management team that consists of nurses as well, within two franchises – Right at Home Canada - Guelph & Wellington and Right at Home Canada-Kitchener-Waterloo. The head office is in Guelph and with satellite offices in Mount Forest and Kitchener. “Additionally, we are looking for office space in Halton Hills due to our expanded territory and patient load,” says Stacy Stuart, RPN and Director of Operations. “Our incredible organization employs over 80 professional caregivers, and we are always hiring exceptional caregivers.”

“We pride ourselves on offering exceptional support and care services for those with physical, medical, or memory impairments at home—wherever that is.”

Greenway and her team are proud to celebrate their recent 10-year milestone. She says, “We are grateful for all our employees and thank Guelph and Wellington County for your support.”

The business charges an hourly fee for service, allowing Right at Home to supplement support received from family, government resources, retirement residences or long term care.

“Whether it be a companion, transportation, personal care, nursing care, dementia support, end-of-life, or respite care, we can assist. There is full flexibility to adapt as your family’s care needs evolve.”

With Right at Home Canada, you have assistance and support in navigating changes as they come. They work hard to be an essential piece of your family’s ‘care puzzle’.
