HaltonHillsToday, in partnership with the Upper Credit Humane Society (UCHS), highlights a special pet in need of adoption every week.

Nala was adopted as a kitten nine years ago and was returned by the family last month as they didn't want her anymore.

Nala was never taken to the vet during her nine years of ownership and was fed a poor-quality diet where she gained weight and became obese. She now weighs 26 pounds, but is otherwise healthy and is needing a home where she will get the proper care and attention that she deserves.

Nala is the sweetest girl who loves belly rubs and will rub up against you for attention. She loves to follow you around the house and will talk to you.

She enjoys her weight management kibble and wet food, along with soft comforters on a nice warm bed. Her favourite pastime is the cardboard scratcher.
