Residents of The Gallery at Bennett Village donated 630 pounds of food to the Georgetown Bread Basket this month. Also, Martha Jack and Nancy McIntyre collect empties from the residents throughout the year, which led to approximately $700 being donated to the food bank.

Georgetown seniors have given some holiday help to the local food bank.

Residents of The Gallery at Bennett Village recently surpassed their goal, collecting 630 pounds of food for the Georgetown Bread Basket. That topped last year’s donation of 600 pounds of non-perishables.

In addition, residents Martha Jack and Nancy McIntyre, who volunteer sorting food at the Georgetown Bread Basket, collected empties from their neighbours throughout the year. That led to approximately $700 also being donated to the food bank from The Gallery residents.
