Parents and kids get ready because two of the most popular celebrities are coming to Halton Hills.

Australian children’s entertainment icons Bluey and Bingo are coming to Acton and Georgetown. Their visit is part of Halton Hills Public Library’s Winter Wonder, a free celebration of the arrival of the holiday season that kicks off at both branches at 10 a.m. Saturday.

“It’s a bit of a meet and greet as mascots,” said Children’s Librarian Bailey Shaw.

Bluey and Bingo will arrive in Acton first between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Georgetown families can hang with the beloved characters starting at 1 p.m.

Face painting, snowflake crafting, letters to Santa, playing in virtual reality and watching Frozen 2 are on the agenda at both branches alongside the dogs.

But the Acton branch has an additional activity that's fun for the whole family. Children can expect to also make bird feeders. Using 3D-printed moulds in the shape of stars and snowflakes, bird seeds and binding agents, kids will be able to make their home more bird-friendly.
